PC is a retired engineer who currently publishes The Punster, the "pun newsletter for the Save the Pun Society. He is working on a book of pun-based word games for groan ups and is a professional magician, who has hocus-pocussed for over 40 years. There is a retail magician's supply store in the Chicago area that PC frequents mainly because he owns it. He also is one of five owners of a small professional theatre company, and the author of seven plays. The Swanson family has always had a love of language, as evidenced in the facts that PC's younger brother is an English/drama teacher and researcher and his octogenarian mother is a formidable Scrabble opponent. "My association with the International The Save Pun Foundation, the Pundit, and the many serious(?) punsters in the world has been one of my great joys in life", says POTY 1994 P.C. Swanson.
